1. Face Masks
Our first DIY treatment recommendation is the classic and essential face mask. It'll leave your skin refreshed, hydrated, and leaving yourself incredibly relaxed afterward; facemasks are a perfect way to wind down on an evening or brighten up a morning. These can be made out of cocoa (for anti-aging), oats (for deep cleansing), blueberries and lemons (for protection and brightness), papaya (for anti-wrinkles), or aloe-vera (for plumping and glowing). You may already have some of these things in your house, and with just a few extra ingredients you can whip up a facemask from all-natural ingredients that your skin will definitely thank you for.
2. Foot Soak
Now when we're talking about skincare, we're not only talking about our face. Making sure the skin on our feet stays healthy and soft without becoming hardened and full of calluses is definitely important - any pedicurist will tell you this. The good news is it's possible to make a scrub at home just from baking soda. Simply mixing baking soda and water will result in a scrub that will leave your feet softer than ever.
3. Toner
Toning the skin is another key beauty treatment, and our DIY tip for this is as simple as making a cup of tea. That's right, in order to create a white tea toner you would add peppermint and white tea leaves, adding some aloe vera, and storing in the fridge to cool before spritzing onto your face. Just make sure you label the bottle properly and don't get confused by how appealing the mixture might look in there!
4. Body Scrub
After a long day our skin may have gathered sweat, dirt, and all kinds of things from the environment around us. It's for this reason that a body scrub is necessary in order to cleanse the skin and get rid of all of the things we don't need. Something that can be made at home is a detoxifying rice ginger scrub, inspired with an Asian touch. The coconut oil ingredient is full of hydrating healthy fats, ginger detoxifies, and the starch from the rice helps soothe damaged skin. Since most people would have these ingredients at home already, there's no excuse not to try out this one.
5. Lip Scrub
Our next recommendation is a luscious honey lip scrub. If that doesn't sound tempting then we don't know what does. Honey, lemon, maybe oats, combined together and scrubbed onto the lips using a toothbrush is the perfect way to leave your lips fresh and plumped, getting rid of any dry skin and revitalizing the lips. Plus, the leftover scrub will be delicious to lick off afterward.
6. Face Scrub
An exfoliating face scrub can be a great addition to a beauty routine to be put on right before a face mask or a moisturizer. A DIY treatment for this can be simply made out of sugar. By simply mixing honey and brown sugar and scrubbing it onto the face, exfoliation will work beautifully and your skin will smell, look and feel sweet. What's not to love?
7. Eye Mask
Last but definitely not least is the eye-mask. We've all seen the clips in movies where a face mask is teamed with cucumbers over the eyes, but does this actually work? We can confirm it does. Cutting up cucumbers releases the active enzymes, and placing them on the eyes helps to decrease puffiness, helps with allergies, and calms and soothes the skin. So it's not just about recreating the classic look, there really are great benefits to this, and it's easy to do.
