Paint Your Flower Pots for a Festive Look
You really might not have to spend any money on this Easter decoration idea, depending on what you already have at home. Painting terracotta flower pots is a great way to change things up a bit, and if you have kids, then this is a really fun little project for them. If you don't have flower pots, then you can get some at most dollar stores, which also usually carry the right paint.
After you've painted your pots, and if they're small enough, you can also consider using them as a centerpiece or just displaying them around the house or out on the porch.
Create a Beautiful Piece of Art Using Board and Fake Moss
This Easter decoration looks incredible, and the best part about it is that it's much easier than it looks. All you're going to need is some sort of canvas or poster, a marker, some glue, and some fake moss. Start off by using a marker to draw the shape of a bunny on your canvas. Next, glue the moss inside the outline you made, and you're done. It's super easy and quick.
These look great pretty much anywhere, thanks to the neutral colors, whether you decide to hang them on a wall or set them on a table leaning up against something.
Make Fun Easter Bunny Bubblegum Machines
Here's another really cute Easter holiday decoration. It's a jar that's shaped just like a candy machine, except you just use it to display tiny Easter bunnies. Everything in the photo can be bought from the dollar store, and it doesn't take too long to throw together. It also makes for a really fun project for kids. Once you've finished, you can set it up in their rooms or add it to a display shelf.
Pretty much everything here can also be customized, so if these don't really go with the look you're going for, then you can paint everything a different color or customize it another way.
Turn a Hula Hoop Into a Wall Ornament
We've never even considered anything like this before. Turning a hula hoop into a wall ornament is really cheap, and it looks great, so long as you make sure to paint the hula hoop before adding things like flowers or garlands. Most hula hoops don't look very Easter-themed when they're bought, but you can go with some lighter tones, like light blue or pink, and they should work here.
Fake flowers work as well, but since it's spring, you can try searching for some wildflowers or other types of vegetation if you don't plan on displaying it for too long.
Use Popsicle Sticks to Make Bunny-Shaped Decor
The bunny in this photo looks pretty complex but is not too difficult to make. However, we're not going to lie; it will take a bit of time. Still, after it's done, it's going to look great, and since it's just made out of wood, it'll go well with most different types of decor. Not only does it look really good, but it's also a nice conversation starter since nobody else is going to have one.
You can use it in combination with a centerpiece or display it on a shelf alongside some flowers. Either way, it's going to look great and add a lot to your space.
Craft Some Mason Jar Bunnies and Stick Them on a Pedestal
Here's another easy and inexpensive project that's great for kids. Mason jars are sold at most dollar stores, and you can dress them up using paint and crafting supplies. Just paint a little face of a bunny on the front, and then add some ears, and you're all done. The best part is you can paint the lids and jars separately so that you can still use them to store stuff.
Don't need to store anything? Then, cut a hole on top and turn it into a piggy bank. Mason jars are really versatile, and they look great when they're dressed up.
Decorate Your Candles
When you think of a specific holiday, odds are you associate that holiday, at least in part, with a certain scent or candle. Decorating your scented candles is just a nice way of adding another little personal touch to your decor, and it's really easy. You could do something as simple as wrapping the candle in a ribbon, or you could go a bit further and make an Easter-themed candleholder.
The real point here is just to add your own little touch to your scented candles since they do play such a big part in the holidays, and they're already a part of your decor.
Make Some Moss-Covered Eggs to Show off
We really like this Easter decoration idea. Like everything else on this list, it's really easy and cheap. Start off with some eggs, and prepare them the same way you would if you were about to dye them. Next, simply apply some glue and cover them in moss. You can finish everything off by wrapping a bit of yarn around the egg or just leave them how they are.
The moss looks great with pretty much any type of decor, and it's a nice green reminder of spring. If you have a small basket, you could also just stack them inside and display everything.
Make an Easter-Themed Door Hanger
So, you want something to hang on your door, but you don't want a wreath or a garland? Maybe you can try crafting this Easter-themed door hanger and hang it on your front door. All of the supplies can be bought at the Dollar Tree, and they're not very expensive. Just put everything together using some glue and then hang it with some twine after you finish, and you're done.
If you don't like the way each separate decoration looks right out of the store, paint it or add your own little touches in order to make it more to your tastes.
Use Plastic Foods and Paint Them to Your Liking
Using plastic foods for decoration isn't anything new. However, when it comes to Easter, that plastic fruit bowl your grandmother kept in her house might not cut it here. Instead, lean into the fact that the foods are fake. For example, you can get some plastic carrots and then just paint them white. Throw them in with a basket or some fake moss or other greenery, and you have a good-looking Easter decoration.
You don't even have to paint them white; they'd look nice in pastels, too. You can get a bit creative here since the aim isn't to convince people that plastic food is real.
Take Your Egg Decorating a Step Further With Plastic Eggs and Decoupage Paper
Dyeing Easter eggs is one of the best traditions of Easter. So, why not take your egg dyeing a step further this year by playing around with some plastic eggs? Instead of dying them, you can use decoupage paper to give them a stunning pattern or image. The paper isn't expensive, and there's usually enough to decorate a dozen or more eggs, giving you a unique new decoration for the home.
There are a lot of ways you could take this. It'd also be possible to just use some glue and glitter to add some sparkle to plain, plastic eggs.
Make an Easter Egg Tree
This is a nice idea for a coffee table or a side table. Firstly, you're going to need some cardboard, and you're going to want to shape that cardboard into a tree or a cylinder. Next, start gluing your fake grass or Easter tinsel to the sides. Lastly, start to glue your eggs. Of course, these are just guidelines, and you can decorate your tree with whatever or however you want.
If you do choose to use plastic eggs, then we recommend going with something a bit fancier than plain plastic eggs. The eggs with glitter are nice, or combine this with another plastic egg project on this list.
Make Decorative Easter Coasters Out of Rope
You don't have to actually need any coasters to love the idea of coasters shaped like bunnies. This decoration uses small ropes or twine to fashion simple Easter-themed coasters for anywhere in your home. Just wrap your rope or twine similarly to the ones in this photo, but make sure to cut off some pieces that you can use as the ears. Next, glue everything together to make sure it stays.
Your new coasters are not only going to look great, but they're going to protect your furniture from water marks and rings left by kids during your big Easter dinner.
Make a Clothespin Centerpiece
This is a really cool centerpiece idea. If you want something that looks really great but you don't want to spend a lot of money or time on it, then this might be the answer. Start off with a candle holder, and then glue a ring of clothespins around the top. Inside, you can stuff some grass just to give it a bit more of an Easter vibe. Do the same at the base of the candle holder.
If you want to take it a step further, then you can wrap your clothespin ring in twine or even lightly brush it with white paint or stain to give it a rustic look.
Make Your Own Wreath Using a Pool Noodle
This seems obvious looking at it now, but we've never thought about making a wreath using a pool noodle. After you have your noodle, cut it down and use a glue gun to glue the two ends together. Next, just use that same glue gun to start adding some decorations. You can cover the entire wreath with different colored Easter eggs, or you can add some flowers, or maybe a bit of both.
And don't be shy with the glue because you don't want the noodle separating after you've already covered it in whatever decorations you choose to put on your wreath.
Craft Some Twine or Burlap Eggs
If you're looking for an idea for fancier or more grown-up Easter eggs, then this might be it. Grab some twine or burlap from a dollar store, along with some glue and plastic eggs. Next, just wrap the eggs with the twine. You can add glue beforehand to make sure everything stays in place after you're done. Finish it all off with ribbons, but make sure they're in neutral colors.
After you're done with all of them, you can place them in some white stoneware or in another project from this list. They'd also look really good paired with straw or moss.
Create a Display Using an Aluminum Foil Tray
The tray in this photo is actually made out of aluminum foil, but it's done so well that you don't even notice. Start off by painting your tray. You can paint it similarly to the one in this photo, or you could go with your own design. Next, cut out your bunny using some cardboard, and give it some color or leave it brown, depending on what colors you're going with.
You can also take some fake flowers and carrots and run them along the bottom of the pan or along the top. Use Scrabble pieces to finish everything off by spelling a festive word.
Make a Paper Bunny Garland
Need something to hang on the wall or across a shelf? This might be your answer. These paper bunny pom poms are super simple to make and they're also really inexpensive. You can find detailed instructions on the internet, but everything is pretty straightforward. You just need some yarn or string, paper, and pom poms. The hardest part is just getting the string through each pom pom, but once you've done that, you're set.
Like a lot of other ideas on this list, feel free to make this one you're own and mix things up with different colors if you want, or you could just go with all white.
Craft Some Yarn Easter Bunnies
Yarn and twine are both really versatile, but they also look great when paired with Easter decorations. There are more in-depth guides explaining how to craft easter bunnies out of yarn online, but it's really easy, and it doesn't cost very much. If you go the yarn route, then feel free to mix things up with different colors or match them to the decor you already have around your home.
Twine tends to be one color, but it still looks really good, and it's more of a neutral color so it pairs well with most other decorations regardless.
Craft This Adorable Centerpiece
If you're looking for a really unique centerpiece or maybe even just something to display on the shelf, then look no further. This centerpiece looks sort of like a tree made out of Easter-colored candies, and we think it's great. All you need is a candleholder, some cardboard, and plenty of tiny Easter eggs. Use the cardboard to create a cylindrical shape on the candleholder. You can hold everything together using glue.
Lastly, start gluing all of the tiny easter eggs onto the cardboard one by one, and remember that you can make patterns using different colors if you want to.
Use Buffalo Check Fabric to Brighten up a Frame
This one requires just a tiny bit of luck, but odds are it won't be hard to find a bunny-shaped frame at a dollar store. Once you've found your frame, you just need a bit of glue, and some buffalo check fabric, which works really well with springtime and Easter decor. Glue the fabric onto the frame and cut around the sides to make a cute little display piece for your home.
If you want to go a step further, you can even add a little burlap ribbon across the rabbit's neck so that it looks like it's wearing a bowtie.
Make DIY Stuffed Bunnies for Kids or Decor
This is probably one of our favorite decoration ideas on this list, especially if you're doing the project with kids. If you are doing it with kids, then you can allow them to pick the materials for their bunnies or any decorations they might want to add after the stuffed bunnies are finished. If not, then feel free to choose from any material you like, and just stuff it using pom poms or cotton.
There are detailed instructions online, and it will take a little bit more time than some other ideas on this list, but if you do it right, then it'll last forever.
Use Garden Gloves to Make a Wreath
Here's another Easter decoration that's a bit more spring-oriented. It's a wreath, but this one is a little different from most other wreaths you've probably seen. Instead of using flowers or greenery to craft a wreath, you can use brightly colored gardening gloves. Just pick out some gloves that are really bright and remind you of spring, and then run a frame through all of them and create a circle.
Finally, you can add your own little touches, like gluing or tying a stuffed animal or sign to the wreath. It's just a fun take on traditional wreaths and it's a great way to add some whimsy to your spring decor.
Make a Bunch of Robin Eggs Using Dye or Paint
This is a really simple idea, but it also looks really good. Instead of dyeing your easter eggs all kinds of different colors, why not dye them all one color? And why not let that color be baby blue like you'd see on a robin's egg? You can use plastic or real eggs for this project. If you use plastic, then pick up some baby blue paint and some other colors to use as splatter.
Paint or dye all of your eggs blue, then use blacks and red and pinks to create dots or splatters, which you'd sometimes naturally see on a robin's egg.
Create Colorful Mason Jar Decorations
There's one other mason jar decoration on this list, but this one is a bit more colorful. That also makes it great to do with kids. First, you're going to want to give all of your mason jars a base color using paint. Next, distribute the paints and let everyone go wild. You can paint anything you want, from different faces to bright and bold patterns. Uniqueness is the goal here.
Finally, fill the jars with fake grass or tinsel and place them all together to make a unique Easter display. If you add enough grass or tinsel, you can even display your eggs in them.
Create Easter Egg Centerpieces
Need something for the table? Why not craft some of these adorable Easter egg centerpieces for your next dinner or just to display around the kitchen? You just need a small flower pot (which can be plastic), some sticks, some fake grass or tinsel, and plastic eggs or styrofoam. If you're going with plastic eggs, then it might be a little difficult to pierce the bottom, but it's still possible.
If you're decorating with someone else or with kids, they can add their initials or names to the pots and place them wherever they sit when it's time for dinner.
Make Clothespin Bunnies
If you have small children, then they're going to love this project. And if not, then you're going to love it. We're betting that you probably already have some clothespins and markers or paint lying around the house. If you don't, then don't worry because they don't cost much. Just take your clothespins and markers or paint and get to work turning your clothespins into tiny adorable bunnies for Easter.
It's super simple and quick, and once you're done you can display them around your home or use them to hang up things like garlands or even artwork from school.
Decorate for Spring
You don't necessarily have to decorate using Easter decorations. You could also go with a more spring-oriented theme when decorating your home or kitchen. The two are so closely associated that it works either way. Pick up some fake flora from the dollar store, along with some wooden decorations, and combine the two to make all kinds of different decor and add some much-appreciated greenery to your home or kitchen.
You don't even have to go with fake plants; Spring is the time of the year when all kinds of different wildflowers and plants start to bloom. We're sure you can find something out in the yard with a bit of inspection.
Create Your Own Easter-Themed Canvas
So, this one requires a bit of artistic talent, but what better excuse to let your artistic side go a little wild? You can pick up an inexpensive canvas and some paints from most dollar stores, as well as Easter-themed stencils and fabric. There really aren't any directions for this one, so feel free to create whatever you want and then hang it on the wall or add it to a shelf.
If you feel like you need a bit of inspiration, then just do a simple Google search online and draw from whatever pops up. Have kids or a partner? Then buy multiple canvases and supplies and paint together.
Dress up a Store-Bought Wreath
If you happen to have a wreath lying around from last Easter or from Christmas or some other holiday, then it might be worth considering dressing it up a bit. You can add things like eggs, twine, ribbon, or bows. It's really easy to add pretty much anything you can think of so long as it keeps with the theme of Easter or spring. Feel free to go wild.
If you're not sure what to add, then just search online to get some inspiration from what others out there are doing and incorporate different ideas into your wreath project.
Reuse Your Christmas Tree
If you're the type of person who doesn't take their Christmas tree down until well into February, then you're going to like this Easter decoration. It gives you an excuse to keep the tree up till April, but you do need to redecorate it for Easter. You can add some tinsel that's Easter themed or just add a bunch of flowers all over the tree. Ribbons and yarn also look good on an Easter tree.
However, we can't really think of any other holidays that come right after April that might give you an excuse to keep the tree up for another couple of months.
Craft Some Kitchen Decor Using a Dollar Store Pizza Pan
When it comes to Easter, then your kitchen is the one room of the house you pretty much have to decorate. It's going to be where you're doing things like dyeing eggs and making Easter dinner, so it needs some decorations to help get people in the mood. One easy decoration is this display sign, made from a paper platter. You can paint or decorate it any way you want.
After you've finished, hang it up in the kitchen using some twine, and you're all done. Just remember to keep everything either Easter or spring themed and you're good to go.
Go Green With Your Wreath
There are a couple of different wreath ideas on this list, but that's only because they're incredibly versatile, and they look great. This particular wreath is just decorated with a lot of greenery to reflect spring. It's simple, but it still looks really good, and it can provide a space with some greenery, which is always a really good thing. You can add some flowers here but try not to add too many.
The main appeal here is the greenery, so keep the flowers sparse and use neutral colors. You could also decorate it with pinecones if you see any around the yard or at the store.
Fill Your Table or Kitchen With Faux Flowers
Want to decorate for Easter or spring but don't feel like going all out or don't have a lot of time for projects? Well, there is an easier way. You can just buy a whole bunch of fake flowers from a dollar store and spread them around your table or kitchen. It's quick and simple, and it works. Throw them in jars, vases, or pretty much anything else you have.
If you have a garden or live near a field where wildflowers are blooming, then just grab some from outside, and don't be afraid to mix and match different colors.
Don't Forget to Decorate Outside
After all that time you spend decorating the inside of your home, it only makes sense to decorate the outside. Luckily, when it comes to Easter, decorating the outside of your house isn't nearly as complex as it is during Christmas. All you need are a couple of different pieces that reflect the Easter spirit. You can get cheap baskets and other Easter-themed decorations from a dollar store.
You can even use some of the projects on this list outside. Just hang them on a wall by the door, or when it comes to wreaths and garlands, hang them directly on the door.
Combine a Bunch of Different Items to Make a Display
If you're the type of person who likes to go above and beyond for the holidays, or maybe you just need a more intensive project, then we have just the thing for you. This display piece combines multiple items someone found at a dollar store and crafted to create a really unique decoration. They took a bit of burlap, some fake plants, some rope, and some lettering and combined everything really nicely.
You don't have to recreate this exactly how they did it, and in fact, we think it might look a bit better with some more greenery added, either to the piece itself or as accessories.
Create a Spring-Themed Wreath
If you like wreaths, but you want something a bit more subtle out of your Easter wreath, then why not consider dressing it up for spring? You just need a store bought wreath, some fake flowers, and a ribbon. Decorate the wreath in the flowers and tie on the ribbon like a bow and you're done. You can usually find all kinds of different flowers for cheap at most dollar stores.
This one is really affordable, so it might be worth considering decorating all the doors of your home with a wreath, and if you have a fireplace, don't forget to hang on there, too.
Simply Stock up on Little and Cheap Store-Bought Decorations
We know that not everyone out there is going to have the time or patience to take on a project making Easter decorations. That's why we wanted to include simple, store-bought items as a decoration idea. Buy cheap and buy enough and spread them around you're home. If you do want to make some changes, then even doing something as simple as giving a decoration a coat of paint can work wonders.
However, you don't even have to do that. So long as you have some decorations around your home, then it's going to be easier to get into the holiday spirit.
