Hold On To Those Earrings!
We can't even keep track of the number of times we've found ourselves in a hurry to get out of the house in the morning and realized at the last minute that we can only find one of our favorite earrings. Not only is it pure heartbreak to realize we'll never see the little guy again, but we'll also spend the day looking like a pirate with one earring (which is chic nevertheless).
Invest an hour and grab an old shoebox, paint it a nice color and stick ALL of your earrings in there. You may be messy, but at least you'll be messy in one place. Also, embrace the mismatched earring look, it can be incredibly badass!
Mascara In a Rush
Mascara is a pesky little tool that requires precision, concentration, and most of all, TIME. Sadly, time is a bit of a weak spot of ours, especially in the morning. Not to worry though, because this handy little trick is both a time saver and pure genius!
Simply press a spoon to the top of your eyelids (you can do the bottom later), and apply with ease. This will both prevent that pesky hand twitch that inevitably comes with applying mascara, and it protects the eyes from all those annoying clumps coming down from the brush.
Make That Perfume Last
Those perfume makers sure did a number on us when they produced perfumes that spray just a teeny tiny spritz AND last only half an hour, which is about the time it takes to grab a coffee before work. The joke's on them though, because we've found a way to hack the system.
Simply rub a teeny-tiny bit of vaseline on your neck, wrists, chest (or anywhere else, we don't judge) before you spray on some perfume. The vaseline will help the perfume stick to your skin, ensuring that you smell pearly clean all day long.
Banana Smiles
Drinking as much coffee as we do has consequences. Namely, coffee stains on our pearly whites. Lucky for us, there's no reason to part with our hard-earned cash at some teeth whitening clinic when we have everything we need right at home,
Like bananas? Well, now you'll like them even more. If you want to whiten your teeth, there's a quick and easy fix. When you finish eating a banana just rub the inside of the peel across your teeth for an all-natural whitener.
Everlasting Lipstick
We all want to apply our lipstick when we leave the house in the morning and come back with perfect lips after a long, grueling day. Sadly, the reality is our lipstick lasts about from the time it takes us to leave the house and up until we finish our morning coffee.
It sure is tragic, but no more! From now on, when applying lipstick, gently place a paper towel and sprinkle some make-up powder on top. It can be any brand, and results are absolutely guaranteed. We all deserve to snack to out heart's desire without worrying about our makeup.
Fresh Shoes
Smelly shoes are... unattractive, to say the least. Not to mention the state in which they leave your precious feet. For a quick and easy fix, grab some tea-bags and place them in each shoe. Store the shoes in a dry place for a few hours.
The tea-bags will absorb the odor of the shoes and leave them smelling fragrant. Just don't forget to take the tea-bags out when you want to wear the shoes again, because picking shredded tea-bags out of your socks sure isn't a lot of fun.
Smooth Knees
Sometimes, at no fault of our own, our knees turn dark. Thankfully, an all-natural mixture of tumeric, peanut butter, honey, lemon juice, applied to your knees and kept on for 30 minutes will go a long way.
The mixture will lighten the dark spots and get your knees ready for those gorgeous summer dresses!
Sweet Lips
In these dark wintry days, our lips perhaps suffer the most. We put them through extreme cold, not to mention, we smother them under masks and scarfs. Why not reward them with some all-natural balm? Honey is perhaps nature's greatest gift to humans.
Simply dab a bit of honey on your lips at the end of a long day and wait a couple of minutes before washing (or licking it off). Get ready for the softest (and the sweetest) lips ever.
Water Not Included
Showering sure is a chore. Especially in the freezing winter, when all you want to do is get under the soft covers as fast as possible. However, greasy hair is definitely no fun either. Luckily, we have a solution for all of that.
Before you go to bed, simply sprinkle some baby powder on your hair and get your beauty sleep. You'll wake up in the morning with soft, luscious locks and no one will be the wiser. It's also way better for your hair than shampoo, not to mention the time and money you'll save.
Blow Dry The Creases Away
Though expectations for workplace professionalism are at an all-time low at this point in 2020, it still is nice to have effortlessly smooth and sleek clothes. Why not incorporate that luxury into your own morning routine?
If you're already blow-drying or straight ironing your hair, take an extra two minutes to press your blow-dryer or straight iron to those extra stubborn creases on your favorite shirt or pants. It will leave you feeling powerful and put-together for the rest of the day, and if you stick to it long enough it will become second nature.
Rings Forever
It's quite unsettling to discover that the nice ring you got a great deal on is leaving green residue on your fingers (no need to be alarmed, it's just the pigmentation of the copper imprinting on your skin). If you want to make your rings last forever, or at the very least, a little bit longer, do this simple trick
Apply a layer of clear nail polish and wait for it to dry. The result will be a nice, hardy ring that can withstand anything, and won't leave your fingers looking wacky.
Lemon Armpits
You might be one of those girls who couldn't care less about her armpit hair, or you might be one of those girls who is absolutely pedantic about her pits being silky smooth. Either way is cool, but if you're the second type, look no further. because we've got a fast fix for you.
Mix up some baking soda with lemon juice and apply it to your armpits consistently for a few weeks. Goodbye to the dark residue that you can't get rid of after you shave, hello pearly armpits. Baling soda is remarkably multi-purposed, so don't miss out on another one of its highly effective uses.
Packing Shoes The Right Way
Shoes can take up a LOT of space in your suitcase. Space that is better utilized for some extra outfits or some nice gifts from your vacations. Not to mention, the smell that shoes can spread to the rest of your silky clean unmentionables is...unpleasant to say the least.
Not to worry though, because if you simply store your shoes in your shower cap neither odor nor space will burden you. Hey, you're getting into the shower the moment you get home, might as well put those free hotel shower caps to good use.
Make Up Conservation
Applying a full face of foundation is so extra. Why waste so much time? And money? Instead, invest in a small and compact spot-concealer. Not only will it save you some prime prep time, it will also protect your sensitive face from too many makeup products.
That's not all. Instead of a bulky foundation tub, you can carry around this slim tube everywhere you go. Whether at work, school, a club, or a bar, you can just duck into the restroom and apply it speedily. Make sure to purchase a concealer that fits your skin tone exactly! It's a quick and easy fix, and no one will know the difference!
The Perfect Bun
We all despair over getting the best, effortless-looking messy bun. This sexy look is extremely hard to perfect, but we think we've found a solution, and we promise it's not as weird as it sounds. Take a sock (a clean one) and cut off the toes, then roll it up until it looks like a donut.
Put your hair in a high ponytail and string it through the donut hole, then wrap your hair around the sock until it is completely concealed, and ta-da, a perfect bun. Pull out a few tendrils from the edges and you've got the lazy girl look down to a T.
Apple Cider Skin
For those of us with greasy, oily skin (no shame! all skins are beautiful!), we might have had a bad experience with rich, dense moisturizers that only seem to make things worse. But no worries, we've got everyone covered. Just mix up some apple cider vinegar and water and apply a light coat to your skin every night.
The high acidity of the vinegar will balance your skin's PH levels and prevent it from producing more oil and your skin will stay hydrated and beautiful as you slay another day.
Dark and Dangerous
Sometimes we need a dark-haired day, especially to fit those dark winter tones and cozy scarfs. If you're going for a more dramatic look, or if your hair is thinning out at the roots and you want a richer, more voluminous color, this trick is for you. Simply grab an eyeshadow that matches your hair tone and apply at the roots.
This is especially effective for high ponytails that stretch out your hair, and it will give you the dramatic, sultry look we all need at times.
Protect The Hair!
Swimming in the pool is perhaps one of the most rewarding physical activities you could find, and it's perfect for those of us who really REALLY hate to sweat. The only downside is that chlorine absolutely demolishes your hair, from the roots to the tips.
Funnily enough, dousing your hair with tap or mineral water actually protects your hair from the harmful effects of chlorine. That way, you get the best of both worlds; a healthy head of hair and a great workout!
Minty Fresh Nails
For those of us who are borderline obsessive about applying nail polish, it might be wise to give the old nails some breathing time and take a break from nail polish for a while. If you're as obsessive as us, chances are that your nails are looking a bit yellow and brittle.
It's not the end of the world, though. You can apply a few squirts of your own toothpaste on those nails and let them sit for a while. Toothpaste will do the same thing it does for your teeth on your nails, it will whiten and strengthen them so that they're fit and ready for the next nail polish application session.
Quick Dry Nail Polish
There's no such thing as too much nail care, our fingers serve us all day long as we type away on our laptops. That being said, we don't have much time for nail care. Let's be honest, while painting our nails is one of the most meditative self-care experiences, waiting for nails to dry is a form of torture, not to mention something always ends up going wrong. Whether you smudge it or chip it or smear it across some valuable piece of furniture, waiting for nails to dry is never pleasant.
That's why you should stick your hands in a bowl of ice water instead, which will help set the paint and prevent you from making any mistakes. It's much quicker than frantically blowing on your nails while trying to make coffee AND reply to an email.
No More Blackheads
Blackheads are the bane of our existence. Just...why? There is hope though because gelatin (the simple stuff some might use for baking) is incredibly useful in getting rid of the pesky rascals. Simply create a thin mask out of gelatin powder and two tablespoons of milk and microwave for about a minute.
Once the mixture has cooled down (careful! Don't burn yourself!), apply it to your face using a makeup brush and leave it on for about a minute. then wash. Hello, clear and smooth skin!
A New Way To Dry Hair
Drying hair with a towel often frizzes it up too much, especially for those of us #blessed with a mane of curly hair. Also, ironically, a towel doesn't absorb that much liquid. On the other hand, a one hundred percent cotton T-shirt will get the job done much faster and with much less frizz for everyone involved.
Just grab an old shirt you don't need anymore, make sure it's as clean as can be, and wrap up your wet mop in it. It will dry the hair much faster, and it will guarantee some tight, bouncy curls that last for a good amount of time.
Sleek Sweaters
We all reach that point in the winter when all of our sweaters are so worn they start to look ratty and old. They don't have to stay that way, though. Simply grab a comb and run it through all of the excess fuzz and fluff. They'll all come right off and you'll be left with a sweater so sleek and smooth it will look brand new.
This is another time-saving gem, and honestly, sweaters are great in whatever state they're in. But if you're planning to leave the house sometime between now and April, you might as well invest in this trick.
Natural Eye Lift
If you've had a rough night, or simply want a quick and easy, subtle glow-up, pay close attention to this stroke of genius. Apply white eyeliner above and below your eyebrows and smudge with a make-up sponge, This will define your eyebrows and accentuate your beautiful eyes.
This is the kind of trick that everyone will notice but won't know how to explain it. You'll simply look fresh and refreshed, and they'll do a double-take. You're gorgeous, baby!
Emergency Pimple Management
It seems to be a rule of nature that the day before a big event; your brother's wedding, a networking event, a job interview, you have some kind of terrible breakout. It sucks but as Murphy's law dictates: everything that can go wrong, will. Luckily, if you crush some aspirin and mix it with water, then apply it to your problem areas it should clear things right up.
Keep it on your face for five minutes and then wash it gently off. That should subdue the redness and take the inflammation down a notch. Then go get dressed for your big event, its time to slay!
Hangover Cures
Even after a night of partying, you deserve to look your very best. If you wake up after a hard night with eyes so puffy that you look like you have pink-eye (in both eyes!), this is for you.
Simply stick a tub of moisturizer in the fridge and apply in a time of need. The cool lotion will have a soothing effect on your skin and it will also reduce inflammation under your eyes, leaving you smooth and fresh and ready to go. Every trace of last night's party will be nowhere to be found.
Easy Smoky Eye
The Smoky Eye is one of the hardest beauty tricks to master and perfect. However, those who despair over it just don't know this simple and easy hack.
Simply grab some black or dark eyeliner and gently sketch out a hashtag on your eyelid. Then smudge it carefully, and ta-da, a perfect smoky eye with minimal effort. Our favorite.
No More Cotton Balls
Sometimes applying toner night after night makes us want to scream. We just want to go to sleep for crying out loud! If you want to cut down your nighttime skin-care routine simply transfer your toner to a spritz bottle and spray your toner on. No further application needed!
Not only does this trick save time, but it will also save an incredible number of cotton balls. Eco friendly AND effortless. Could we even ask for something better?
Balmy Eyebrows
Eyebrows are hard to tame And not all of us have the great privilege of time (and let's be real the patience) to stand in front of a mirror and painstakingly tweeze out every errant and pesky eyebrow hair. That's why we have a great solution that will save your life and your brows.
Simply take your favorite lip balm and rub it across your eyebrows. This will set them in place and make them look narrow and sleek. No more bush. No more unruly hairs. Minimal effort. What are you waiting for?
Multitasking
Deep conditioning takes time and effort that we just don't have at this point. If we have to invest our mental energy in something we'd much rather use it for working out (get those endorphins in). The good news is that now we can do both.
To hit two birds with one stone, lather a good amount of coconut oil from the tips of your hair to your roots and put your hair in a high ponytail. Work out to your heart's content and when you finish, shake your hair out and you'll get shiny, silky hair, and a wonderful high from your work out.
Handless Dryer
Holding a hair dryer to dry your hair every morning after your shower is impossibly time-consuming. If you want to multitask like a pro, make a hairdryer holder out of half a pringles can, or get a holder that you can stick to your mirror.
Stick your hairdryer in a holder and dry your hair while brushing your teeth, checking your emails, or literally anything else. Become a multitasking pro!
One Trip Groceries
If you're a true Lazy Girl, you know this struggle and you REFUSE to make two trips from your car to your house to transport all of your groceries home. We know, we've got you covered.
Simply grab a Carabiner clip and loop all of the shopping bag handles through it, and you'll never have to make a second trip again.
No More Stains
Embarrassed by the underboob sweat stains you get when exercising? (you shouldn't be! Sweating is a natural human response to exertion) Just stick two panty liners to the bottom of your bra cups and they will absorb the sweat right up!.
Work out anywhere you want with absolute confidence! And remember, if you're working out you're already winning!
No More Chaffing
In preparation for the summer that's hopefully coming soon, let's prevent the inevitable chaffing of our inner and other thighs. A homemade mixture of Cornstarch and coconut oil poured into an old deodorant dispenser.
Rub it on problem areas before you go out and enjoy a summery breeze on your legs without worrying about chaffing.
Get Rid Of Tan Lines
The light at every lazy girl's tunnel is preparation for a nice, long, summer. If you've spent a long (and an amazing) day at the beach and find yourself with some sharp tan lines, just mix a bit of turmeric with milk, and then rub across the lines.
The turmeric should help the lines fade out, and supplement your glowing summer tan!
